Cingulate Gyrus

The Cingulate gyrus is in the middle of the brain and receives signals from other key areas. It functions as an integral part of the limbic system, which is involved with emotion formation and processing, learning, and memory. It’s also involved in “executive control” needed to suppress inappropriate and unconscious behavior, as well as respiratory control functions.
